Overview:

MVS Wound Care and Hyperbarics is seeking a dedicated and compassionate full-time physician specializing in Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) and Wound Care. The ideal candidate will join a dynamic, multidisciplinary team committed to excellence in patient care and outcomes in advanced wound healing and hyperbaric medicine.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients with conditions appropriate for hyperbaric oxygen therapy in accordance with UHMS-approved indications (e.g., soft tissue radiation injury, diabetic foot ulcers, sudden sensorineural hearing loss, complicated surgical wounds).
  • Prescribe and supervise HBO treatments, ensuring patient safety and treatment efficacy.
  • Perform comprehensive wound assessments and provide advanced wound care for various types of wounds, including:
    • Diabetic foot ulcers
    • Chronic non-healing surgical wounds
    • Venous stasis ulcers
    • Arterial ulcers
    • Pressure injuries and more
  • Collaborate with a skilled team of certified hyperbaric nurses, woundcare nurses, and hyperbaric technicians.
  • Monitor patient progress, adjust treatment plans as needed, and maintain thorough and timely documentation.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and ensure adherence to clinical protocols and safety standards.
  • Sharing the off hours on call schedule for phone calls and emergencies

Qualifications:

  • MD or DO with a valid and unrestricted medical license in the state of Maryland.
  • Board Certification or Board Eligibility in an applicable specialty (e.g., Emergency Medicine, Internal Medicine, Surgery, Family Medicine).
  • Certification in Hyperbaric Medicine (or willingness to obtain certification within 6 months of hire).
  • Experience or training in Woundcare strongly preferred (e.g., CWSP, CWS, or WCC certification).
  • Strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and a collaborative approach to care.
